The Apology

On 13 February 2008, former Prime Minister Kevin Rudd delivered the National Apology to Australia’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples for the forced removal, hurt and suffering that past government policies had inflicted.

We provide family tracing, reunion and counselling services to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and their families who have been separated under the past policies and practices of the Australian Government.

SASGAC acknowledges the Kaurna people as the Traditional Owners of the Country where SASGAC is situated today, and pays its respect to Elders past, present and future. We respect their spiritual beliefs and connections to land which are of continuing importance to the living Kaurna people of today. We further acknowledge the contributions and important role that Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people continue to play within our shared community.
